Jeffs Edged by St. Anselm, 1-0

AMHERST, MA - The Amherst College women's hockey team was edged by visiting non-conference foe St. Anselm College 1-0 in its final regular-season home game on Wednesday night. St. Anselm junior Danielle Campbell (Milton, MA) tallied the lone score as the Hawks improved to 17-3-1, while Amherst dropped to 8-10-5.

St. Anselm rookie goalie Andrea Berlin (Durham, NH) stopped all 16 Amherst shots on the night, including a perfect 9-for-9 in the opening frame and near scores by Amherst first-year Elizabeth Ditmore (Excelsior, MN) and sophomore Alena Harrison (Westwood, MA) in the second session. Campbell broke the stalemate 17:35 into the second, circling around the front of the net and firing lower glove side for the score. Amherst sophomore goalie Lindsay Grabowski (Princeton, NJ) nabbed 15 saves in defeat.

The Jeffs sit in fourth place in the conference standings, while fifth-place Hamilton College (8-11-2/6-6-2 NESCAC) has two games remaining on its conference schedule, both at cellar-dwelling Connecticut College.

Amherst wraps up its regular-season slate on Friday at 7 p.m. against non-conference foe Elmira College at Williams College.
