Jeffs Fall at Wesleyan, 4-2

MIDDLETOWN, CT - The Amherst College women's hockey team fell at NESCAC and Little Three rival Wesleyan University 4-2 on Saturday. Amherst senior Ali White had a goal and an assist, first-year Meghan Dickoff added two assists and fellow rookie Alena Harrison netted her fourth goal of the year. Wesleyan was led by first-year Molly Adams, who scored the game-winner 12:50 into the third period.

Adams gave the Cardinals the early lead off an assist from senior Andrea Snow just over five minutes into regulation, but Harrison evened the score nearly four minutes later as White and Dickoff found her for the score. Wesleyan regained the lead with a goal from Snow with just over eight minutes remaining in the opening period, but the Jeffs answered again as Dickoff fed White for her first goal of the season. After a scoreless second period, Adams gave the Cardinals the lead for good with a power-play goal. Wesleyan sophomore Jessica Pearce added an insurance tally with nearly five minutes left in regulation.

Amherst first-year netminder Lindsay Grabowski had 20 saves in the loss as the Jeffs dropped to 1-1 (1-1 NESCAC). Senior goalie Liz Courtney had 27 saves for the Cardinals, who improved to 2-0 (2-0 NESCAC).
