Jeffs Shut Out at Second-Ranked Bowdoin, 8-0

BRUNSWICK, ME - The Amherst College women's hockey team dropped to 0-4-2 overall and 0-4-2 in conference play following an 8-0 loss at second-ranked Bowdoin College Saturday afternoon. With the victory, the Polar Bears improve to 5-0-1 and 4-0.

First-year Kelsey Wilcox (Cumberland, ME) and junior Britney Carr (Conway, NH) each notched a goal in the opening stanza, giving Bowdoin a 2-0 advantage heading into the second period. The Polar Bears went on to rack up four goals in the second and a pair in the third to seal the victory.

Amherst senior netminder Heidi Alexander (Edina, MN) finished with 38 saves while first-year goalie Nathalie Morgan (Dieppe, N.B.) turned aside 10 shots for the Polar Bears.

The Jeffs now take a 31-day break and return to action on January 7th at 3 p.m. at Hamline University.
