Jeffs Fall to Sixth-Ranked Plattsburgh, 10-2

AMHERST, MA - Despite a 27-save performance by senior netminder Heidi Alexander (Edina, MN), the Amherst College women's hockey team fell to visiting non-league foe Plattsburgh State, 10-2, Saturday night at Orr Rink. With the loss, the Jeffs drop to 1-13-4 overall while the sixth-ranked Cardinals improve to 12-3.

Senior forward Danielle Williams (Needham, MA) tallied her team-leading 16th point when she netted a goal to even the score at 1-1 early in the opening period. The Cardinals notched a trio of goals before Jeff rookie forward Renee Sisti (Coventry, CT) found the back of the net, making the score 4-2 early in the second. Plattsburgh struck for six more goals on their way to victory. Rookies Kristine Dodd (Franklin, VT) and Chantelle Rye (Ennismore, ONT) and sophomore Elizabeth Gibson (Bath, ONT) led the Cardinals with two goals apiece.

Amherst returns to action Wednesday at 7 p.m. against visiting non-league opponent New England College.
