Jeffs Skate to 3-3 Tie at Trinity

HARTFORD, CT - The Amherst College women's hockey team skated to a 3-3 tie at NESCAC foe Trinity College Friday night. Senior forward Danielle Williams (Needham, MA) paced the Jeffs with a goal and an assist. With the tie, the Jeffs move to 1-11-4 overall and 1-8-3 in conference play.

The Bantams drew first blood 4:51 into the contest when Libby Jakes found the back of the net. The Jeffs countered with a pair of goals in the second period to take a 2-1 lead into the third. First-year forward Leah Kaplan (Buffalo, NY) tickled the twine, extending the lead to 3-1. Trinity's Tara Borawski then notched a pair of goals to help the hosts salvage a tie.

Senior netminder Heidi Alexander (Edina, MN) finished with 21 saves for the Jeffs, while Mimi MacKinnon turned aside 28 shots for the Bantams.

Amherst returns to action Saturday at 3 p.m. at NESCAC and Little Three rival Wesleyan University.
