Jeffs Skate to 1-1 Tie at Hamline

ST. PAUL, MN - After a 31-day break, the Amherst College women's hockey team skated to a 1-1 tie at non-conference foe Hamline University on Tuesday afternoon. First-year forward Leah Kaplan (Buffalo, NY) notched the lone goal for the Jeffs.

The visitors broke the ice 17:46 into the contest when Kaplan tallied her second goal of the season, assisted by junior forward Tory Serues (Cambridge, MA). Hamline countered 6:21 into the second when rookie defender Allison Rime (Columbia Heights, MN) tickled the twine to set the final score at 1-1.

Jeff senior netminder Heidi Alexander (Edina, MN) turned aside 17 shots, while first-year goalie Rachael Young (Buffalo, MN) was busy and finished with 42. Amherst moves to 0-4-3 overall while the Pipers go to 2-9-1.

Amherst returns to action Wednesday at 8:05 p.m. for a non-conference tilt at the University of St. Thomas.
