Fox Does a Little of Everything in Award-Winning Week

HADLEY, Mass. – Amherst College women's basketball guard Hannah Fox '20 filled the stat sheet in all three games last week, resulting in a selection as the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Player of the Week.

The award was announced Monday afternoon by the conference office.

In a 3-0 week for the Mammoths, Fox scored in double-figures in each game, including a career-high 33 points in a 78-48 win over Emmanuel on November 27th.

That night, Fox was 13-19 from the floor (68.4%) and 6-7 from behind the three point line (85.7%).

Fox added a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds at Brooklyn College, then closed the week with 18 points, four rebounds, four assists, three steals and four blocks on the road at New Jersey City.

Over the three-game stretch, Fox averaged 21.3 points per game, along with 6.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2.3 steals. From three-point range, the junior guard was 7-11, and at the free-throw line Fox went 13-14.

Fox, a 2018-19 Preseason All-American, has averaged 19.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists in five games this year for Amherst (5-1). She is shooting 50.6% from the field and 48.3% from behind the three-point line, as well as 94.4% from the free-throw line.

The Amherst women's basketball team will play their final home game of 2018 on Saturday afternoon when they entertain Maine Maritime at 12:00 PM.
