HADLEY, Mass. – First-year standout Troy Colleran of the Amherst College men's track & field team has been named the NESCAC Field Performer of the Week following his stellar performance at the Mondschein Multi hosted by Kutztown University of Pennsylvania last weekend.
A native of Boise, Idaho, Colleran placed first overall in his first decathlon of the outdoor season with 6062 points, clinching three first place finishes across 10 events, including a season-best mark of 6.82 meters in the long jump.
The first-year, who took 12th overall in the heptahlon at Indoor NCAA's, also clinched gold in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.21 seconds and in the high jump with a mark of 1.93m.
With a 10.20m mark in the shot put, a 28.27m toss in the discus throw and a 3.85m performance in the pole vault, Colleran captured second in all three events en route to his statement win.
This is the second consecutive week an Amherst first-year brought in conference Performer of the Week honors, with Henry Buren '22 claiming Track honors last Monday.
The Mammoths return to action this Saturday, April 20 when they travel to Tufts University to compete in their final tune up before the 2019 NESCAC Championships.
