SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Earning his second-straight appearance in the regional competition, senior Bennett Fagan '20 of Amherst College men's swimming and diving clinched third in the 3-meter diving competition at the 2020 NCAA Regional Diving Championships, hosted by Springfield College at Art Linkletter Natatorium.
The seven divers that qualified for the 2020 NCAA Division III Championship will be announced at the conclusion of the events.
Fagan will return to Greensboro, N.C. seeking another top-eight finish after posting a third-place score of 501.20 in today's regional competition.
Tom Amsbry '20 made his second consecutive appearance in the regional dives, finishing with a score of 433.70 to land himself in ninth place out of the 17 divers.
Springfield's own Connor Pennington led the divers with a 565.10 mark through 11 dives, which was less than five points ahead of second place finisher Jay Lang of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), who noted a score of 560.40.
Qualifying for both events, Fagan and Amsbry will be right back in action tomorrow for the 1-meter competition which is slated for a 12 p.m. start.
