SHENANDOAH, Texas – The Amherst College men's swimming and diving team remains in 13th-place after day three action at the 2015 NCAA Division III Championships held at the Conroe ISD Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas.
The Jeffs have 70 points through 29 events and are second among NESCAC foes. Holding the top spot is Kenyon with 348 points, while Denison sits in second (260) and Williams claims third (221). Emory and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps are currently ranked fourth and fifth with 187 and 160 points, respectively.
In the first event of the night, Jeff Anderson '16 and Sam Spurrell '18 finished seventh and eighth in the 200-yard butterfly, respectively. Anderson finished in 1:48.52, while Spurrell placed shortly after in 1:51.46.
The 800-yard freestyle relay team of Jeff Anderson '16, Alex Dreisbach '17, Michael Rochford '15 and Connor Sholtis '15 finished 15th overall, just one-tenth of a second behind Case Western. The quartet touched the wall in 6:45.38.
Amherst returns to the Conroe ISD Natatorium tomorrow and will compete in the final day of action at the NCAA Championships with preliminaries beginning at 10 a.m. and finals starting at 6 p.m.
