HADLEY, Mass. – Amherst College men's squash sophomore Robinson Armour '22 was named to the 2020 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) All-Conference Second Team, as announced by the organization on Thursday.
Competing at the top of the ladder for Amherst, the New Haven, Conn. native went 13-5 this season and contributed a 1-2 record in the league tournament before finishing off the year on a three-match win streak at nationals.
After dropping to Middlebury, Armour picked up a win against Kunal Valia in their consolation match against Tufts. Facing the Panthers again in the opening round of the 2020 College Squash Association (CSA) Summers Cup Championship, Armour posted a commanding win over Nick Bermingham (11-6, 11-5, 11-9) to contribute to one of the three match wins on the day.
Facing Bowdoin in their first consolation match, Armour posted his second consecutive straight-set win with an 11-3, 11-8, 11-3 decision over Deven Kanwal before finishing off the tournament with an 8-11, 15-13, 11-6, 12-10 win over Tufts.
His first all-conference honor, Armour was the lone Mammoth to earn All-NESCAC this season.
Armour joins 19 other competitors that make up the first and second team as Trinity's Miko Aijanen earned Player and Rookie of the Year, while Theo Woodward (Bowdoin) earned Coach of the Year.
