PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – With a 5-2 victory over Susquehanna on Saturday afternoon, Amherst College secured a split of their day in Florida and secured the 200th victory for Head Coach Brian Hamm.

Hamm is now 200-103 in his ninth season with the Mammoths, and he is the quickest coach in both program and New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) history to reach the 200 win plateau.

Game 2: Amherst 5, Susquehanna 2

Joe Palmo '21 was 3-5 to lead a 13-hit Amherst attack that took the lead with a run in the second inning and two runs in the third and never looked back.

Palmo got involved in the last two frames, scoring on a sacrifice fly by Harry Roberson '18 in the top of the eighth and adding another insurance run with an RBI single to score Nardone in the final inning.

Michael Cortelli '20 tossed five and two-thirds innings of one-run ball, allowing just two hits to 23 batters faced. Andrew Ferrero '19 earned his first save of the year by pitching the final two-thirds of an inning.
