Polischeck Paces Women's Cross Country at Little III Championships

AMHERST, Mass. – Placing three runners inside the top-10, the Amherst College women's cross country team opened the 2018 season with a third place finish at the Little III Championships.

With an average 4K time of 16:12, the Mammoths finished with with 54 points behind a 6-9-10-12-17(19)(20) performance.

Amherst returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 22 when they compete in the Purple Valley Classic at Williams beginning at 1 p.m.

MAMMOTH SCORING RUNNERS

  • Starting the season strong, sophomore Polischeck crossed the finish line in 15:52.3 to pace Amherst and place sixth overall.
  • With a time of 16:05.0, Paige Reddington '21 earned a ninth place finish, while Lela Walter '19 recorded a 16:06.5 mark to take 10th place.
  • Kristin Ratliff '20 finished 12th overall after behind a time of 16:11.7, while Frances Margaret Gehrke '22 rounded out the Mammoths' top-five with a 20th place (16:49.2) finish.
