  • Cross Country Champion Nicole Roberts Nominated for Woman of the Year

    AMHERST, Mass. – With a conference championship and four Academic All-American selections under her belt, cross country student-athlete Nicole Roberts ’18 was selected as Amherst College’s nominee for the 2018 NCAA Woman of the Year award.

    AMHERST, Mass. – Cassie Funke-Harris has been promoted to head coach of men’s and women’s cross country and Stephen Rubin has been named the head coach of men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field at Amherst College, it was announced today by Don Faulstick, director of athletics. Funke-Harris, who also will serve as an assistant track and field coach, becomes the first female head coach of a men’s program in Amherst College history.

    Nicky Roberts '18 placed second overall in the NCAA Regionals to secure a spot in the NCAA D3 Championships next weekend, while the Amherst College women’s cross country team posted an average team 6K time of 22:04 to log 183 points and finish sixth overall in the 56-team qualifier hosted by the University of Southern Maine Saturday afternoon at the Gorham Country Club.

    Pacing all harriers with a time of 21:19.9, Nicky Roberts '18 became the eighth Mammoth in women’s cross country program history to earn an individual NESCAC Championship title, and first since Lizzie Lacy ’19 did so in 2015, as the Amherst College women’s cross country team captured fifth place behind a 1-22-25-41-44(46)(48) scoring order (23:05 average 6K) at the 34th installment of the annual conference meet hosted by Bates College at Pineland Farms Saturday afternoon.
  • Women's Cross Country Heads to Bates for NESCAC Championships

    The Amherst College women's cross country team is set to travel to New Gloucester, Maine on Saturday, Oct. 28 to compete in the 2017 NESCAC Championships hosted by Bates College. Competitors in the 34th installment of the annual conference meet will run the trails of Pineland Farms, with the women's six-kilometer race scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. 
  • Roberts Wins Little III Championship Crown, Paces Amherst to Second Place

    The first Mammoth to claim the Little III Championship individual crown since Keri Lambert ’13 in the 2012 season, Nicky Roberts ’18 paced the squad with a first place finish as the Amherst College women’s cross country team earned second overall at the annual 5K competition hosted by Williams at the Mt. Greylock XC Loop.

    Nicky Roberts ’18 claimed the individual title at the Paul Short Classic brown division 6K race to lead the Amherst College women’s cross country team to a fourth place finish (162 points) at the 44th annual run presented by Asics at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course.
