    Amherst College senior setter Kate Bres dished out 22 assists and recorded seven digs, but Middlebury College’s Becca Raffel floored a match-high 16 kills and added eight digs to help lift the Panthers to a 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-23) sweep of the Purple & White in Saturday afternoon’s NESCAC Semifinal match at Cousens Gymnasium on the campus of top-seeded Tufts University in Medford, Mass.

    Amherst College senior Maggie Danner delivered a match-high 24 kills as the Purple & White battled back from a 2-1 deficit to stake a 3-2 (23-25, 25-18, 18-25, 25-20, 15-8) victory over NESCAC and Little III rival Wesleyan University Saturday afternoon at LeFrak Gymnasium to earn the Little III title.

    The Amherst College women’s volleyball team picked up a 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-13) sweep of SUNY Canton, but suffered a 3-1 (25-19, 25-19, 14-25, 27-25) loss to UMass-Boston during day two action of the 25th annual Hall of Fame Invitational Saturday at LeFrak Gymnasium.
