WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Amherst College women's volleyball won its third straight match with a 3-0 sweep over Westfield State University Wednesday in non-conference action at the Woodward Center.
The Jeffs (12-4, 4-1 NESCAC) won decisively by scores of 25-9, 25-18 and 25-13 over the Owls (6-14, 1-2 MASCAC).
Maggie Danner '17 registered a team-high 12 kills to lead Amherst offensively, while first-year's Jennifer Mackinnon Krems, Marialexa Natsis and Annika Reczek recorded at least five kills on the evening.
Amherst setter Nicole Carter '16 dished out 20 assists and defensive specialist Katie Warshaw '16 finished with 16 digs.
Owl freshman Victoria Sutphen and junior Kendyl Haney recorded five and four kills, respectively, while first-year setter Courtney Ryan distributed 16 assists on the night.
The Owl's defense was paced by Sarah Green who had 12 digs and senior captain Carolyn Cote who added two aces and seven digs in the effort.
Amherst returns to action on Oct. 10 when they host Western New England at 7 p.m.
