With the win, the Jeffs improved to 19-6 overall and 7-2 in the NESCAC, dropping Wesleyan to 8-14 and 2-7 in league play.
Amherst won a decisive first set by the score of 25-15. As a team, they totaled 13 kills for a .423 attack percentage and held the Cardinals to just .057 hitting.
The Jeffs carried the momentum into the second set and registered 17 teams kills en route to a 25-19 win and a 2-0 edge in the match.
Facing a loss, Wesleyan retaliated and took the set 25-20 to cut the deficit to one but Amherst clinched the match with a 25-17 set three win.
Danner led all players with 22 kills on .327 hitting and added 14 digs to complete the double-double. Joining her in double-digit kills were Nicole Gould '17 and Lauren Antion '15 with 12 and 11 respectively. Setting up the attackers was Carter with a match-high 50 assists. She tallied10 digs as well and contributed four kills.
Kate Centofanti '14 had a team-high 15 kills for the Cardinals, while Kim Farris '14 added 10. Claire Larson '15 dished out 23 assists to round out the top offensive performers for Wesleyan.
The Jeffs return to the court tomorrow, Nov. 2, for their regular-season finale at Trinity. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
