DeMais played a vital role in Amherst's trio of victories this past Saturday, as the Jeffs defeated Rivier College, the University of New England and host Roger Williams University in convincing fashion. This marks the second consecutive year Amherst has swept the Roger Williams Invite, and also the second straight year DeMais earned Tournament MVP honors.
The senior outside hitter displayed leadership qualities in all three matches, recording 16, 12 and 15 kills, respectively, for an average of 4.3 per game to go along with an impressive hitting percentage of .525. After picking up 10 digs to go along with her 16 kills against Rivier, DeMais recorded an astounding .786 hitting percentage against New England, followed by a team-high 14 digs against Roger Williams.
An All-NESCAC First Team selection from 2006, DeMais has the potential to not only lead her team back to the NCAA tournament, but also to make a strong case for this year's prestigious Conference Player of the Year honor. The Jeffs return to action Wednesday, Sept. 8 for a home match with Keene State College at 7 p.m.
