Jeffs Pick Up Road Win at Emerson, 3-0

BOSTON, MA - The Amherst College volleyball team picked up its seventh consecutive win to start the season when it defeated Emerson College on the road 3-0. Senior tri-captain Jaclyn DeMais (Hillsdale, NJ) led the offense once again with 14 kills.

Amherst got some much needed help from junior outside hitter Hannah Wirth (Pacific Palisades, CA), who chipped in with six kills. Whitney Kouvaris (Jacksonville, FL) provided what have become routine numbers for her, chipping in with another seven kills.

The Jeffs dispensed the Emerson side easily in a trio of games, winning 30-17, 30-20, and 30-23.

Amherst received another stellar output from its deep class of first-years, with Katherine Jordan (Los Altos Hills, CA) stealing the show. Jordan dished out 36 assists on the night, while classmate Rachel Yorke (Los Angeles, CA) registered 10 digs.

The Jeffs return to action Friday evening when they host Brandeis University and then Westfield State College to open the Amherst Classic.
