WATERVILLE, ME - The Amherst College volleyball team improved to 16-2 overall and remained undefeated in NESCAC play at 6-0 with a trio of conference wins at Colby College on Friday and Saturday. The Jeffs bested Bowdoin College 31-29, 30-13, 30-20, on Friday night, downed Bates College 30-20, 30-12, 30-19, on Saturday morning, and overcame a 2-0 deficit to defeat host Colby in five games, 24-30, 22-30, 30-18, 30-27, 15-11, on Saturday afternoon.
Amherst senior co-captain Annie Hoeksma (Los Angeles, CA) dished out a combined 107 assists over the weekend, while sophomore Kristin Quinn (Los Angeles, CA) posted 42 kills, highlighted by a 23-kill performance in the win over Colby. Senior co-captain Nikki Davidson (Los Angeles, CA) tallied 13 of her 31 kills in the Bowdoin win, while the Jeffs used a balanced attack to down Bates as Quinn had nine kills, Davidson racked up eight kills, and rookies Julie Berkley (Fullerton, CA) and Jaclyn DeMais (Hillsdale, NJ) posted seven and six kills, respectively.
Amherst returns to action Tuesday at 7 p.m. at non-conference opponent Westfield State College.
