WILLIAMSTOWN, MA - The third-seeded Amherst College volleyball team wrapped up its season with a 30-24, 30-20, 22-30, 21-30, 15-13 loss to second-seeded Tufts University in the semifinals of the NESCAC Championship Tournament on Saturday at Williams College. The Jeffs finish 23-7 overall, while Tufts advanced to the NESCAC Championship match on Sunday, but fell to top-seeded host Williams.
Rookie outside hitter Jaclyn DeMais (Hillsdale, NJ) led the Jeff attack for the second consecutive match, posting 22 kills, nine digs and five blocks, while junior Kate Raddock (Stamford, CT) boasted her second straight outstanding defensive showing with 43 digs. Amherst sophomore Kristin Quinn (Los Angeles, CA) was impressive as well, tallying 20 kills and seven blocks, and senior co-captain Annie Hoeksma (Los Angeles, CA) added eight kills, 40 assists and 16 digs. Senior co-captain Nikki Davidson (Los Angeles, CA) and first-year Julie Berkley (Fullerton, CA) chipped in 17 and 14 digs, respectively.
