AMHERST, MA - Amherst College sophomore outside hitter Kristin Quinn (Los Angeles, CA/Harvard-Westlake) was named Honorable Mention All-New England by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on Thursday.
Already named Second-Team All-Region by the New England Women's Volleyball Association (NEWVA) and First-Team All-League by the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), Quinn finished second in the NESCAC and sixth in the nation in hitting percentage (.426) and led the conference and placed 23rd nationally in blocks (1.44/g). She added a team-best 3.59 kills per game, good for eighth in the conference, and was a two-time NESCAC Player of the Week Selection.
As a first-year in 2003, Quinn led the conference in hitting percentage (.420) and finished second in total blocks (164) en route to NESCAC and NEWVA Rookie of the Year honors.
Amherst finished the 2004 season at 23-7 and earned the No. 3 seed in the NESCAC Postseason Championship Tournament, where they fell to second-seeded Tufts University 3-2 (30-24, 30-20, 22-30, 21-30, 15-13) in the semifinals.
