Volleyball Improves to 14-2 With Shutout Win at Westfield State

WESTFIELD, MA - After an impressive performance at the NESCAC quad hosted by Tufts University, the Amherst College volleyball team returned to action on the road and shut out non-league foe Westfield State University, 3-0, on Tuesday. With the victory, the Jeffs improved to 14-2 overall while Westfield dropped to 6-11.

Junior middle hitter Lauren Wong (San Francisco, CA) paced the visitors with four service aces and six kills, while sophomore setter Annie Hoeksma (Los Angeles, CA) dished out 29 assists. Senior co-captain Erin Dittus (Brentwood, TN), first-year Sara Bruggeman (Boulder, CO), and junior Jess Allen (Chagrin Falls, OH) also combined for 21 kills.

Amherst returns to action Friday for a NESCAC quad at Colby College at 6 p.m.
