Jeffs Improve to 13-2 With Trio of NESCAC Wins at Tufts

MEDFORD, MA – The Amherst volleyball team ran its record to 13-2 overall and 6-1 in conference play with a 3-1 win over Middlebury College on Friday, and a pair of 3-0 victories over Hamilton College and Tufts University on Saturday, as part of a four-team NESCAC quad, hosted by Tufts. The Jeffs also dropped a hotly anticipated matchup with Williams College, 3-0, on Friday. Williams and Amherst are now tied atop the NESCAC standings with matching 6-1 conference marks.

Senior co-captain Erin Dittus (Brentwood, TN) paced the Jeffs with 46 kills and 11 total blocks in the four matches, while sophomore setter Annie Hoeksma (Los Angeles, CA) dished out 142 assists and added nine blocks on the weekend. Amherst junior outside hitter Jess Allen (Chagrin Fall, OH) was similarly impressive with a combined 32 kills, eight service aces, 21 digs and seven total blocks.

Amherst returns to action Tuesday at 7 p.m. at non-league foe Westfield State College.
