AMHERST, Mass. – Each registering qualifying marks throughout the regular season, three runners are set to represent the Amherst College men's and women's track & field teams at the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships from Thursday, May 23 to Saturday, May 25 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. The annual national meet will be hosted this year by the University of Mount Union and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission.
For each individual men's event, the top-20 declared student- athletes were accepted into the national competition, while the top-22 female student-athletes in each individual event qualify for NCAA's.
Clinching an NCAA qualifying mark at the Williams Final Qualifier on May 15, Rossa enter the weekend as the No. 19 seed in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.48 seconds.
Scartelli will hit the track for the 1500 meter and 5000m runs, capturing the No. 8 seed in the 1500m with a time of 4:31.92 (NEICAAA Outdoor Championship, May 11) and the No. 20 seed in the 5000m race after posting a 17:13.38 mark at the Amherst Spring Fling on April 6.
Ferguson-Dryden rounds out the Mammoths harriers, with the junior logging a time 3:52.19 in the 1500m race at the New England Division III Outdoor Championship on May 3 to enter NCAA Championship action as the race's No. 18 seed.
