BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Amherst College women's track & field team kicked off the 2019 New England Division III Indoor Championship's Friday evening, traveling to the William Farley Field House at Bowdoin College in a bid to post NCAA qualifying marks.
Amherst returns to the track tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 23 when they compete in the final day or the New England Division III Indoor Championships beginning at 9 a.m.
- Olivia Polischeck '21 crossed the finish line in 18:24.49 in the 5000m run to record a new personal record by more than six seconds.
- Annelise Romero '22 racked up 2530 points in the pentathlon across the 60m high hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump and 800m dash to miss a new PR by less than 100 points.
- The 4x200m Amherst record holders (1:45.45), Samantha Tichelaar '22, Rubii Tamen '19, Sophia Friedman '21 and Anna Madden '22 teamed up to post a blistering 1:45.76 mark and place third overall.
