Griffin, Rauls to Represent Mammoths in 800m Run at NCAA Championships

AMHERST, Mass. – Seniors Danielle Griffin and Leonie Rauls of the Amherst College women's track & field team both posted 2018 NCAA Division III Championship qualifying marks in the 800 meter run during the indoor season and are set to travel to Birmingham Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama to represent the Mammoths in the national meet.

Both clinching qualifying times on Feb. 24 at the Maine State Open, Griffin heads into the weekend as the No. 11 seed with a seed time of 2:13.86, while Rauls enters competition in the 16th slot with a seed mark of 2:14.36. In total, 17 harriers will be running the 800 meter event, with Anna Passannante of Williams and Ayden Eickhoff of Bates also representing the NESCAC alongside Griffin and Rauls.

The prelims for the women's 800 meter run kick off on Friday, March 9 at 4 p.m., while the finals for the event take place on Saturday, March 10 beginning at 3:50 p.m.
