BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Amherst College women's track & field team place ninth at the 2017 NESCAC Championships hosted by Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.
Williams won the team championship with a score of 239.83 followed by Bates College in second with a score of 107. Middlebury College added a third place mark of 97.66, while Colby College (69) and Bowdoin (68) rounded out the top five teams.
In the running events, Savanna Gornisiewicz '17 clocked a time of 17:53.73 in the 5000-meter run, while Katherine Treanor '20 secured second place honors in the 10000-meter race with a time of 36:41.84. Tess Frenzel '17 aded a fifth place mark in the 10000-meter run (38:19.64) while Kristin Ratliff '20 powered to a seventh place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:40.72.
In the relays, the Mammoths' 4x100 squad an 4x400 squad notched eighth place honors with times of 50.39 an 4:02.90 respectively.
In the high jump, Kiana Herold '17 finished fourth with a mark of 1.63 meters, while Kaitlyn Siegel '20 followed in seventh with a jump of 1.58 meters. Abbey Asare-Bediako '18 added a leap of 11.29 meters in the triple jump.
Amherst returns to action at the NCAA Division III New England Championships May 5-6.
