Women's Indoor Track & Field Competes at the NEICAAA Championships

BOSTON, Mass. – The Amherst College women's indoor track & field team competed in the two-day NEICAAA Championships hosted at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24-25. 

THE BASICS 

1. Northeastern (151 points)
2 Rhode Island (59 points)
3. Southern Connecticut State (57 points)
4. UMass Amherst (48 points)
5. MIT (41.50 points) 

TRACK EVENTS

  • First-year Katherine Treanor claimed first place in the 5000-meter run with a time of 17:12.48.
  • The Amherst 'A' squad competed in the distance medley Friday, recording a ninth place finish with a time of 12:23.04. 

FIELD EVENTS

  • Abbey Asare-Bediako '18 jumped to fourth place overall in the triple jump with a distance of 11.71 meters.

  • The Purple & White will compete at the Tufts Last Chance meet March 3 and March 4.
