Asare-Bediako Nabs USTFCCCA All-Region Praise

USTFCCCA ALL-REGION TEAM

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Amherst College women's outdoor track & field student-athlete Abbey Asare-Bediako '18 earned United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region praise as recently announced by the organization.

To be named all-region, a student-athlete must either be ranked in the top five of an individual event in the region according to the final TFRRS data or be part of a top three relay team.

Asare-Bediako has seen tremendous success in the triple jump during the first two years of her collegiate career and this season, earned all-region laurels in the event. Over the course of her first two campaigns, she has picked up eight top 10 finishes, and took home top honors in the event at the Tufts Sunshine Classic (April 23) earlier this season with a leap of 11.18 meters. In her final competition of the season, Asare-Bediako posted a sensational bound of 11.55 meters at the ECAC Division III Outdoor Championships (May 18-19) to finish third overall.
