Amherst Competes at NEICAAA Championships

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Amherst College outdoor women's track & field team competed at the 2016 NEICAAA Championships hosted by Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, Conn.

Northeastern University won the event with 140 points, followed by the University of Rhode Island (92.60) and Southern Connecticut State (67) rounding out the top three in the field of 38 scoring teams. 

In section 2 of the 800-meter run, Leoni Rauls finished second in the heat and 16th overall with a time of 2:16.92.

In the triple jump, Abbey Asare-Bediako posted a jump of 11.24 meters and finished 10th overall in the second flight of the event.

Amherst returns to action at the ECAC Division III Championships Wednesday and Thursday, May 18-19 hosted by Westfield State University.
