Amherst Places 24th at the DIII New England Championships

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Amherst College women's track & field team placed 24th overall in the 31-team, two-day DIII New England Championships hosted by Middlebury College.

THE BASICS

  • RESULT: 24th of 31 (5.50 points)
  • LOCATION: Virtue Field House, Middlebury College
  • TOP-THREE: MIT (123.50 points), Williams (93.83 points), Middlebury (82 points)

TRACK EVENTS

  • First-year Julia Asin placed 12th overall in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.69.  
  • With marks of 1:38.18 and 1:38.70, Victoria Hensley '16 and Leonie Rauls '18 finished back-to-back in the 600-meter run to finish seventh and eighth, respectively.
  • Kaeili Mathias '18 claimed 19th in the 800-meter run (2:29.01).
  • With a time of 3:11.14, Keelin Moehl '16 finished 10th overall in the 1,000-meter run.
  • Senior Betsy Black crossed the finish line 13th overall in the 5,000-meter run with a mark of 18:43.64.
  • The quartet of Hensley, Rauls, Moehl, and Asin placed seventh in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:07.05.

FIELD EVENTS

  • Sophomore Becki Golia took eigth in the high jump with a height of 1.58 meters.

  • Amherst travels to Boston University to compete in the NEICAAA Championship on Friday, Feb. 26.
