WILLIAMSTOWN, MA - The Amherst men's and women's outdoor track teams participated in the NESCAC Championships, hosted by Williams College, on Saturday. The women ended the meet in eighth place, while the men landed in 11th place. The host Ephs took team championship honors on both the men's and women's scoreboards.

For the Amherst women, the highlight of the meet was a first-place time from the 4x800-meter relay delegation, junior Aly Venti (Newton, MA), first-year Ginger Polich (Ironwood, MI), and senior co-captains Kate Hamill (New York, NY) and Laurel Kilgour (Clifton Park, NY). Sophomore notable Carter Hamill (Richmond, VA) placed second in the grueling 10,000-meter run, and junior Erinn White (Watertown, MA) snagged third place in the 5,000-meter run.

The men emerged with a few bright spots, also. Sophomore Michael Page (Fargo, ND) came through with third place in the 5,000-meter run, trailed by junior John Stanton-Geddes (Glendale, MO), who came in fifth. The 4x100-meter relay team left its mark also, with a third-place performance, care of senior tri-captain Brian Hart (Rutland, VT), sophomore Jay Wagstaff (Tewksbury, MA), junior Janak Chandrasoma (Pasadena, CA) and sophomore Jack Morgan (Las Vegas, NV).

On Saturday, the Jeffs will head to Bates College for the Division III New England Championships.
