Benay Weintraub enters her first year with the Amherst Women’s Tennis program as Assistant Coach in 2018-19.
Graduating from Whittier College in 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology & Nutrition Sciences, Weintraub was a four-year member of the tennis team and also an ITA Scholar-Athlete. Currently, Weintraub is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Exercise and Sport Studies at Smith College.
Prior to joining Amherst, Weintraub was the Assistant Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach at Millsaps College as well as the Recruiting and Social Media Coordinator. She played a key role in securing the Majors’ Class of 2017 recruiting class, which was recognized as the #23 Women’s Recruiting Class by tennisrecruiting.net. That year the men’s team were Runners Up in the SAA Conference Championships.
Weintraub has experience at the NCAA Division II level having served as Compliance Coordinator and Assistant Tennis Coach. She has also held an assistant tennis position at NCAA Division III institution Rhodes College.
Weintraub is a 2017 Class 43 graduate of the NCAA Women’s Coaches Academy, now called WeCoach, and was recently accepted into the WeCoach Mentor Program.
Weintraub was born and raised in Memphis, TN, and is certified by the United States Professional Tennis Association.
