AMHERST, Mass. -- One of the most successful women's tennis doubles programs in the country will host two clinics next month for high school women who aspire to play college tennis.
Amherst College Women's Tennis, winner of six NCAA Doubles National Championships, invites 9th-12th graders to the AWT Doubles Clinic on either Saturday, September 7th or Saturday, September 21st at Amherst College Tennis Courts.
The AWT Doubles Clinic will give these women the opportunity to be instructed by the Amherst coaching staff, including legendary Head Coach Jackie Bagwelll, who has overseen all six doubles titles, as well as an NCAA National Champion team in 1999 and singles winners in 1999 and 2000.
Camp attendees will also have the ability to interact with the current team, fresh off of an appearance at the 2019 NCAA championships in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
"As a coaching staff we decided to make doubles the focus of our Amherst Camps," said Assistant Coach Benay Weintraub. "Firstly, because doubles has been such an integral part of our team's success. Secondly, we feel that junior tennis does not do justice to the camaraderie that playing on a college team provides. Nothing builds team cohesiveness better than doubles!"
Registration is open now! Clinic tuition is $150 per player, and is payable at check-in by either cash or check.
To Register: Email Coach Weintraub (firstname.lastname@example.org) to reserve your spot or if you have any questions.
