Jeffs Wrap-Up California Trip With 9-0 Win

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The fourth-ranked Amherst College women's tennis team concluded its California trip with a 9-0 win over Whitman College Saturday.
 
The Jeffs went 4-1 during the west coast trip and are now 5-2 in dual-matches this season. Whitman falls to 8-8 following the loss.
 
In No. 1 doubles, Jordan Brewer '14 and Gabby Devlin '14 cruised to a decisive 8-1 win. Jen Newman '14 and Zoe Pangalos '14 claimed an 8-4 win on the No. 2 court and Safi Aly '15 and Sarah Monteagudo '16 took No. 3 doubles, 8-2.
 
Brewer claimed another win in singles action, taking the top spot with a 6-0, 6-1 win. Devlin cruised from No. 2 singles with a 6-0, 6-1 win and Sue Ghosh '16 took the No. 3 court, 6-2, 6-3.
 
Monteagudo earned her second win of the day with decisive wins of 6-1, 6-0. First-years Megan Adamo and Simone Aisiks won on the No. 5 court (6-0, 6-2) and No. 6 court (6-3, 6-1), respectively.
 
The Jeffs return to the east coast on Friday, Apr. 4 for the three-day Wellesley Invite.
