June 15, 2006

AMHERST, MA – Amherst College senior tri-captain Kristen Raverta (W. Springfield, MA) and sophomore Alicia Menezes (Staten Island, NY) were both named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Women's Tennis All-America team. Raverta earned the honors for both singles and doubles play, while Menezes nabbed doubles plaudits.

Already named the Wilson/ITA National Senior Player of the Year, Raverta finished as the national runner-up in the NCAA Division III Singles Tournament Championship and claimed All-America recognition for the fourth straight year. She also won the 2006 NESCAC Player of the Year award and completed her Amherst career with an 87-19 record in singles play and a 70-21 mark in doubles competition.

Menezes secured her national honors after teaming with Raverta to win the New England Wilson/ITA Tournament last fall and continue on to the national tournament. Playing most of the year at No. 2 or 3 singles and No. 1 doubles, she compiled a 24-4 mark in singles competition and a 21-4 record on the doubles court.
