Jeffs Give Division I UMass a Run For Its Money

AMHERST, MA – The Amherst College women's tennis team gave Division I power UMass-Amherst a run for it s money on Tuesday – including singles wins by Amherst sophomore Tristan Hedrick (Walnut Creek, CA) and senior co-captain Paige Lawrence (Katy, TX) – but fell to the Minutewomen, 5-4. 

Hedrick also teamed with classmate Rachel Holt (New York, NY) for an 8-4 Amherst doubles victory over Camilla Knight (Devon, England) and Sasha Edelstein (Haifa, Israel), while Lawrence and first-year Kristen Raverta (W. Springfield, MA) posted an 8-6 doubles win over Stephanie Price (Columbia, MO) and Dorothy Iwanowicz (Hilton Head, SC). 

The Jeffs dropped to 2-1 with the loss. They return to action Friday at 3:30 p.m. against Wesleyan University.
