Amherst Blasts Trinity in 2000 Debut

AMHERST, MA - The Amherst College women's tennis team rolled to an 8-1 victory over visiting NESCAC rival Trinity College on Saturday. 

Senior co-captain Jamie Cohen (Rye, NY) led the way with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Diana Goldman in number-one singles. Cohen also teamed with sophomore Paige Lawrence (Katy, TX) for an 8-2 win over Courtney Sargeant and Becky Mate in number-one doubles. 

Junior Stephanie Fong (Los Altos, CA), senior Carolyn Pastel (Old Lyme, CT), junior Heather Cole (Baltimore, MD), first-year standout Wallis Molchen (Wilmington, DE) and Lawrence also won singles matches for the Jeffs. 

Amherst returns to action on Sunday at Skidmore College.
