Weekly Wrap 4: Women's Tennis Sweeps New England Showcase

Women's tennis swept all six draws at the New England Showcase as all six singles players earned No. 1 and 2 seeds. Rookie Jamie Cohen (Rye, NY) and junior Neely Steinberg (Concord, MA) remained undefeated as they posted three victories to win the Showcase and White Flights, respectively, and senior captain Sally Childs (Rye, NY) claimed top honors in the Blue Flight. Junior Pam Diamond (Trumbull, CT) and first-year Carolyn Pastel (Old Lyme, CT) had also reached the finals, but each defaulted to Cohen and Childs, respectively. The teams of Diamond-Steinberg, Cohen-Pastel and Childs-Sam Toerge (Potomac, MD) won all three doubles draws.

Warming up for the Showcase, women's tennis challenged the Harvard JV to a match and claimed a 6-3 victory over the Division I team. Cohen, Steinberg and Pastel registered both singles and doubles victories as all three doubles teams earned wins.
