Ruderman Notches Consecutive Second Place Finishes at NCAA Regionals

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Amherst women's swimming and diving team concluded their NCAA Diving Regional with sophomore Lindsey Ruderman '21 recording another second place finish when the divers took on the 3-meter board Saturday afternoon in the Al '51 & Barrie Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center.

Ruderman concludes her regional appearance with her second consecutive top-three finish with both events landing her in second place. In today's 3-meter diving event, Ruderman finished with a score of 518.20 to knock off her closest opponent by roughly 50 points.

Jacqueline Palermo '19, who is coming off a fourth place finish on the 1-meter board, placed eighth in today's event with a score of 441.25. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) took two of the top-three spots on the evening as Blake Zhou led the field with a score of 527.10. Engineer Morgan Matranga dove for a score of 469.05 to secure third place.

The Mammoths will wait for the announcement of the qualified divers before entering the NCAA Championship on March 20 down in Greensboro, North Carolina.
