Women’s Swim & Dive Land Two Divers in Top-Five at NCAA Regional Championship

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Amherst women's swimming and diving team landed two divers inside the top-five on the 1-meter board with Lindsey Ruderman '21 claiming second overall while Jacqueline Palermo '19 took fourth in the 2019 NCAA Division III Regional 3 Diving Championships at the Al '51 & Barrie Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center.

Out of the 22 diver field, Ruderman took the second spot with a score of 471.25, edging Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) junior Blake Zhou by three points. Palermo posted a score of 444.90 for a fourth place finish while MIT's sophomore Deborah Wen took the top-spot with 483.90 points.

The hosts ended with three Engineers inside the top-five on the opening day of the regional championship. Qualifiers for Nationals will be announced in the coming days.

The Mammoths will take on the 3-meter board tomorrow afternoon. Here is the schedule for tomorrow's events:
