HADLEY, Mass. – Amherst women's swimming and diving student-athlete Lindsey Ruderman '21 was voted the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Performer of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Last week against Williams, Ruderman snagged two first place finishes and set two school records, posting impressive marks in both diving events. On the 1-meter board, Ruderman notched a score of 303.91 before backing up that performance with a 334.50 mark in the 3-meter diving event.
Ruderman held the previous 1-meter diving record of 303.30, grabbing the accolade in last season's meet against Williams on January 6th, 2018.
Prior to Williams, Ruderman swept both diving events against Middlebury with a score of 280.43 in the 1-meter diving and a score of 269.03 on the 3-meter board. She also grabbed wins against Wesleyan (232.57) and Colby (243.52), making her undefeated on the 1-meter board so far this season.
This is Ruderman's second career NESCAC weekly honor, receiving her first one after she set the previous school record last season (1/16/18). She was also named the NESCAC Diver of the Year last year, making her only the third Mammoth to receive that honor in program history.
Ruderman is the second Mammoth this season to earn the NESCAC's weekly honor.
