HADLEY, Mass. – Amherst women's swimming and diving student-athlete Bridgitte Kwong '19 received New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Performer of the Week honors, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Kwong, who posted three first-place finishes at Middlebury last weekend, led the Mammoths to a win over the Panthers with winning times of 59.35 in the 100 backstroke and 2:04.49 in the 200 backstroke. She also swam a first-place time of 2:08.96 in the 200 IM to finish off the meet.
At the meet prior, the Mammoths took on Wesleyan University (Nov. 19th) where Kwong recorded a time of 4:29.15 in the 400 yard IM and a 59.73 mark in the 100 yard backstroke, winning both events.
A two-time College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America selection, Kwong has been a staple in the Mammoths roster over the course of her four years.
Last year, Kwong secured her third consecutive All-League honor in the 400 yard IM at the NESCAC Championships with a time of 4:25.76 and second straight in the 200 yard backstroke with a 2:02.28 mark to finish second overall in both events. Kwong also advanced to the 2018 NCAA Championships last season, swimming to a time of 2:02.05 to place ninth overall.
