  • Amherst Secures Eighth Place Showing in Learfield IMG College Directors’ Cup

    CLEVELAND, Ohio. – For the 13th consecutive season, Amherst College has placed in the top-ten in the country when the final results of the IMG Learfield College Directors’ Cup were announced Wednesday. The Mammoths took eighth place out of 338 Division III schools in the annual competition, which ranks schools who have reached the national level of competition in each NCAA sport.

    GREENSBORO, N.C. – Nina Fitzgerald ’21 led the Amherst swimming and diving team on the final day of the 2019 NCAA Championship, placing seventh in the 200-yard breaststroke while sophomore Lindsey Ruderman ’21 received Division III Diver of the Year after sweeping both diving titles at Greensboro Aquatic Center to help the Mammoths finish eighth overall in this year's championship.

    GREENSBORO, N.C. – Lindsey Ruderman ’21 highlighted an imposing day for the Amherst women’s swimming and diving team as she won the 1-meter diving title and became a two-time Division III National Champion while the Mammoths also saw two other top-eight performances through Jacqueline Palermo ’21 and the 800 freestyle relay team of Livia Domenig ’19, Bridgitte Kwong ’19, Sarah McDonald ’20, and Natalie Rumpelt ’20 on day three.

    GREENSBORO, N.C. – Lindsey Ruderman ’21 became the 79th individual Division III National Champion in Amherst College history when she notched first-place with a final score of 498.45 in the 3-Meter diving competition on day one of the 2019 NCAA Championship at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

    HADLEY, Mass. –  The Amherst women’s swimming and diving team will travel to Middletown, Connecticut to compete in the 2019 NESCAC Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships which begins on Thursday, February 14 starting with the 800 freestyle relay at 7:00 PM. The championships have moved to a four-day format this year by shifting the 800 freestyle relay to Thursday as the only event on the night.
