No. 15 Women's Swim & Dive Records Two Top-10 Finishes on Day 3 of NCAAs

NDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Mammoths added two more top-10 finishes on day three of the 2018 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships at the IU Natatorium, as No. 15 Amherst College women's swimming & diving remain in ninth place with 98 points with one day remaining at the national meet. 

DAY THREE RUNDOWN

  • TOP-THREE: Emory (447), Kenyon (330), Williams (319)
  • EVENTS: 200 Fly, 100 Backstroke, 100 Breaststroke, 800 Free Relay

MORNING SESSION

  • In the 200 yard butterfly prelims, Geralyn Lam '19 placed 31st overall, clocking a time of 2:08.21.
  • Touching the wall in 57.96 seconds, Stephanie Moriarty '18 finished 35th in the 100 backstroke preliminaries.
  • Earning a spot in the finals, Nina Fitzgerald '20 crushed the 100 yard breaststroke prelims, outpacing her No. 30 seed time of 1:05.05 to register a 1:03.08 mark and place seventh.

FINALS

  • Fitgerald earned All-American honors in the 100 yard breaststroke, notching a time of 1:03.32 to place seventh in the nation.
  • The 800 freestyle relay quartet of Livia Domenig '19 (1:51.68), Bridgitte Kwong '19 (1:53.03), Sarah McDonald '20 (1:53.39) and Natalie Rumpelt '20 (1:52.84) rounded out the day for the Mammoths, racing to a 7:30.94 mark to finish ninth overall.
