AMHERST, Mass. – Emily Hyde '16 won three individual events as the Amherst College women's swimming & diving team earned a 148-100 victory over Colby College on Saturday at Pratt Pool.
With the win, Amherst improves to 2-0 on the season.
Hyde earned victories in the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.63), the 100-yard freestyle (54.78), and the 200-yard individual medley (2:11.37). Hannah Hummel '16 added a pair of victories in the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke (1:10.04 and 2:32.53 respectively), while Stephanie Moriarty '18 chipped in wins in the 100-yard backstroke (59.77) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:08.18).
Sarah Conklin '16 and Sabrina Lee '15 added victories in the 200-yard butterfly and the 50-yard freestyle events with respective times of 2:10.00 and 25.16, while Lee also chipped in a second place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:14.17.
Marie Maxwell '18 placed second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.91), Geralyn Lam '18 finished second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:02.36), Linda Lu '17 clocked a second place time of 1:11.69 in the 100-yard breaststroke, and Amelia Deady '18 touched the wall second in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 56.30.
The Purple & White's 200-yard medley relay team of Moriarty, Hyde, Conklin and Lee powered to a top time of 1:51.61, while Maxwell, Lam, Conklin and Lee secured top honors in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:42.07).
Amherst returns to action on Monday, Nov. 24 at Wesleyan University at 5 p.m.
