  • Amherst Swimmers and Golfers Earn Academic All-America Honors

    With final academic markings completed for the 2008-09 academic year, a number of Amherst College student-athletes have received national recognition for their achievements in the classroom. The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) and the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) each named their 2008-09 Scholar All-Americans last week, with over a dozen Lord Jeffs grabbing honors.
  • Relay Teams Lead Amherst on Day Three of Nationals

    Amherst College was led by a pair of top-10 finishes in the 800-yard freestyle relay races on day three of the NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships. The four-day championship event hosted by Macalester College at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center concludes on Saturday.
  • Amherst Teams Each Place Fifth at NCAA Championships; Lord Jeff Men Earn Best Finish in Program History

    The Amherst College men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams each placed fifth at the NCAA Division III Championships, which began this past Wednesday at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. The Lord Jeffs won three individual titles during the four-day championship, while Kenyon College repeated as team champions on both the men’s and women’s sides.
  • Kendra Stern Wins 200-Yard Freestyle to Lead Amherst on Day Two of NCAA Championships

    Sophomore Kendra Stern (Albuquerque, NM) was crowned a national champion in the 200-yard freestyle for the second time in as many years to lead Amherst College on day two of the 2009 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships. The four-day event, which is hosted by Macalester College at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center, continues on Friday.
  • Fraser Leads Amherst at Day One of NCAA Championships

    Sophomore Alex Fraser (Willowbrook, IL) set a national record in the 500-yard freestyle to lead Amherst College in day one of the 2009 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships. The Lord Jeffs will resume the four-day championships on Thursday at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis.
  • NCAA Men's and Women's Championships Begin Wednesday; Live Webcast and Results Available

    Amherst College is sending 20 student-athletes to the 2009 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships, which will be held at the University of Minnesota’s University Aquatic Center in Minneapolis. Hosted by Macalester College, the national championships are set to begin Wednesday, Mar. 18 and conclude Saturday, Mar. 21.
  • Eleven Amherst Women Earn All-NESCAC Honors

    The NESCAC announced today the members of the 2008-09 Women’s Swimming and Diving All-Conference Team, with the top three finishes in each event at the 2009 NESCAC Championship receiving All-Conference recognition. Eleven Amherst College student-athletes earned the honor, as the Lord Jeffs finished as the runners-up at this past weekend’s championship meet.
  • Amherst Places Second at 2009 NESCAC Championships

    The Amherst College women’s swimming and diving team placed second at the 2009 NESCAC Championships behind nine-time champion Williams College. The three-day event, which took place at Bowdoin College’s Leroy Greason Pool, began Friday, Feb. 20, and concluded Sunday evening.
  • NESCAC Championships Set to Begin Friday at Bowdoin

    Championship season is set to begin for the Amherst College women’s swimming and diving team, as the Lord Jeffs will hit the road for this weekend’s NESCAC Championships. The three-day event begins Friday, Feb. 20 with preliminary heats in the morning and championship races in the evening at the Leroy Greason Pool on the campus of Bowdoin College.
  • Lord Jeffs Wrap up Dual Meet Season at Springfield

    The Amherst College men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams each picked up a win at Springfield College to wrap up the 2008-09 dual meet season. The Lord Jeffs will return to action for the 2009 NESCAC Championships, which begin Friday, Feb. 27, at Wesleyan University for the men and Friday, Feb. 20, at Bowdoin College for the women.

    CollegeSwimming.com announced Wednesday the latest National Swimmer of the Week recipients, with Amherst College sophomore Kendra Stern (Albuquerque, NM) representing the Division III women. Stern was honored for leading the Lord Jeffs to a 160-131 victory over MIT this past Sunday.
  • Amherst Women Earn 160-131 Win Over MIT

    The Amherst College women’s swimming and diving team earned a 160-131 win over MIT Sunday afternoon at Pratt Pool to improve to 6-1 in dual meets this season. The Lord Jeffs return to action Saturday, Feb. 7, when they wrap up the regular season by traveling to take on Springfield College.

    The Amherst College women’s swimming and diving team set three pool records en route to a 149-92 victory over Union College Sunday afternoon at Pratt Pool. The Lord Jeffs improve to 5-1 on the season and return to action Sunday, Feb. 1, when they host MIT at 1 p.m.

Stern was honored for leading the Lord Jeffs to a 159-104 victory over Hamilton College this past Saturday.

    The Amherst College men's and women's swimming and diving teams each picked up a commanding win at Middlebury College on Saturday, December 6th. The Lord Jeff women defeated the Panthers 170-126, while the men's team grabbed a 176.5-110.5 victory.

    The men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams continued their impressive opening weekend with big wins over Little Three rival Wesleyan University. The women’s team won by a score of 132-89 while the men’s team took home a 127-108 win.
  • Amherst Swim Teams Defeat Colby to Start Season

    The Amherst College men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams kicked off their seasons against NESCAC foe Colby College on Saturday, November 22. The women’s team earned a 163-125 win while the men’s team won by a score of 145-118.
  • Jeffs Look to Build on Record-Breaking 2007-08 Season

    The 2007-08 Amherst women’s swimming and diving team surpassed its expectations with arguably the best season in program history. After an undefeated dual meet season that was highlighted by a narrow win over Williams College, the Lord Jeffs placed third at the NESCAC Championships behind the Ephs and Middlebury. Ten of Amherst’s women earned a trip to the NCAA Championships in Oxford, Ohio, where the Lord Jeffs shined on the national stage to finish beyond Kenyon College as the runner-up for a second consecutive year. Amherst claimed five individual titles and three relay titles, with head coach Nick Nichols earning Coach of the Meet honors for a third consecutive year. The Jeffs rewrote the record books on every level, setting 12 team records, 10 NESCAC records and six NCAA records.
  • Amherst Swimming and Diving Teams to Participate in "Hour of Power" to Raise Money for Cancer Research

    On Thursday Nov. 6, the Amherst College men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will join more than 90 colleges, high schools and club teams across the nation in the Third Annual “Hour of Power” Relay for cancer research. Swum at each participating team’s home pool at 5 p.m. (EST), the event features one hour of continuous sprint relays, with more than 5,000 athletes swimming simultaneously across the country.
