Amherst Women's Squash Continues Rolling, Extends Win-Streak to Four

AMHERST, Mass. – Securing pivotal 3-2 wins at the top of the ladder, No. 15 Amherst women's squash improved their win-streak to four after downing Tufts University 7-2 on Friday night at the Davenport Squash Center.

Improving to 8-3 overall, the Mammoths' have won their last four matches and will look ahead to the Little Three Championships on Feb. 2nd in their next outing, facing Wesleyan (Conn.) at 10:00 a.m.before battling reigning champions, Williams, at 4:00 p.m. in their senior day match.

Tallying two pivotal wins at the top spots, Daksha Pathak '23 edged Claire Davidson, 10-12, 11-6, 11-6, 7-11, 11-5 at #1 before Lauren Weil '23 followed up Pathak's performance with a narrow victory at #2 against  Isabella Schneider (9-11, 11-7, 9-11, 11-3, 11-4).

Adding to the wins for Amherst, Lilly Soroko '22 took down Catherine Shanahan at #3 before Megan Chen brought home a victory for the away side against Caroline Conway '20 at #4 (13-11, 1-11, 8-11, 14-12, 6-11).

Riddhi Sampat '21 and Pierson Klein '20 answered with 3-2, 2-0 decisions, respectively, as Klein held Chloe Kantor to fewer than three points in two out of the three sets.

Margaret Werner '21 lost 7-11 in each of her three sets against Rachel Windreich before Katherine Correia '20 downed Natalie Bartlett, 11-7, 11-7, 11-2 at #8.

Keeley Osborn '22 finished off the scoring for Amherst with a 3-0 rout of Radhika Joshi (13-11, 11-7, 11-5).
