AMHERST, Mass. - The No. 17 Amherst College women's squash team earned an 8-1 victory over No. 21 Colby College in Saturday's Walker Cup (C Division) semifinal match of the 2016 College Squash Association (CSA) Women's National Team Championship held at Yale University.

With the win, Amherst advances to its third straight Walker Cup title match and is looking to complete its third-straight championship run. The Purple & White will take on No. 19 Bates College tomorrow morning at 11 a.m.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

  • Amherst was impressive in its quest for a third consecutive Walker Cup crown picking up eight wins from all but the third position.
  • The Purple & White saw Kimberly Krayacich '18, Taryn Clary '16, Priya Sinha '19, Khushy Aggarwal '16, and Corri Johnson '16 win in straight sets from the second, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth courts respectively.
  • Rachael Ang '19 posted a 3-1 (11-7, 11-9, 7-11, 11-9) win from the first slot, while Ericka Robertson '16 notched a 3-1 (13-15, 11-7, 11-8, 11-9) victory in the fourth position. 
  • Mae Cromwell '18 completed a five-set win from the ninth slot as she posted scores of 12-10, 11-8, 11-13, 8-11, and 12-10 to help punch Amherst's ticket to tomorrow's final.
